The EdTech Bites Food Adventure: Orlando Edition (No Melting Allowed!)

Hey ISTE family! If you’ve hung out with me at conferences like ISTE before, you know how I usually do things: we lace up our sneakers, hit the pavement, and do an epic Walking Food Tour. It’s the perfect mix of networking, storytelling, and filling our faces with incredible local eats.

But listen… we need to talk about Orlando.

I’ve looked at the map, looked at the location of the Orange County Convention Center, and then looked at the forecast. The Orlando heat in June is absolutely no joke. If I tried to do a Walking Food Tour out there, we wouldn’t be networking; we’d just be a group of sweaty EdTech leaders melting into the asphalt.

Because I care about your comfort (and your deodorant), I’ve decided to change things up. This year, we’re trading the sneakers for air conditioning.

Three Stops. Three Vibes. Zero Melting.

Thanks to our incredible, food-loving co-sponsors, Robolink and TWT Audio, we have rented a private charter bus to take us on a progressive dinner across Orlando. We have completely dialed in the logistics, meaning the food will be hot and ready the second we step off the bus.

Here is a quick tease of what we’re eating:

• Stop 1 | Pal Campo Restaurant (Puerto Rican): Think garlicky tostones that absolutely slap and pork-loaded mofongo that will make you drool.
• Stop 2 | Mardee’s Bistro And Lounge (Haitian & Jamaican): Fall-off-the-bone oxtails, smoky jerk chicken, and baked Haitian mac and cheese with a kick.
• Stop 3 | Sodiê Doces (Brazilian Dessert): Literally 15.4 pounds of elite Brazilian cakes from Sodie Doces. Your gym membership starts tomorrow, folks.

Between stops, we aren’t just sitting there. We’ll be running high-energy trivia, hosting sponsor spotlights with Robolink and TWT Audio, giving away swag, and having a blast on the bus.
